This week's question is:
How many sessions of WWDC ’24 have you already watched?
While it’s not a competition, I do notice developers asking each other how many sessions they’ve already watched. Similarly, there’s an impression of having to watch all sessions as quickly as possible.
The fact that new videos get released every day of the WWDC week supports this mindset, as it almost looks like you have one day for all sessions released that day.
Hopefully, you look differently. Either way, don’t feel pressured to watch all sessions as quickly as possible. I’m still occasionally watching WWDC ’23 sessions since I’m finally able to drop macOS 13 and make use of APIs announced that year.
In fact, I like to become aware of the sessions that exist by reading their descriptions, but I only watch those that I can directly start using, either for writing a new article or for implementing in one of my projects.
For example, whenever you’re ready to adopt Swift Testing, you will likely want to watch the session again to stay up to date with all the changes.
This mindset helps me stay calm whenever I see amazing social media posts featuring new features from WWDC sessions. I rather retain my focus on current development tasks for now.
Therefore, I’ve watched just 6 sessions up until now. Hopefully, that removes some pressure from some of you. Obviously, don’t let me stop you from watching many more since there are many exciting sessions to explore!
