The Going Indie Podcast with Antoine van der Lee

After creating my course, “From Side Project to Going Indie”, I proudly announce a new podcast: “Going Indie with Antoine van der Lee”. In this podcast, I’ll be inviting Indie Creators who have already gone independent to let them share their story, experiences, challenges, and learnings.

A new episode will be released in audio and video every first Monday of the month. You can watch the discussion on YouTube, which really allows you to get to know the invited Indie Creators better.

If you can’t wait to watch the first episode with Jordi Bruin, make sure to visit podcast.going-indie.com.

Learning from those that already went indie

While my Going Indie course helps you kickstart your indie journey with 30+ episodes, resources, and discounts, it’s based solely on my perspective. After going indie myself in March 2024, I decided to share what I had learned and help those with the same dream of becoming independent.

I decided you need more inspiration to increase your chances of success. After two successful guest lectures with Jordi Bruin and Hidde van der Ploeg (you can find those in the course), the interviews were so inspiring that I could turn them into a podcast.

Every Indie Creator is different and has a unique story to share:

  • How did they end up going indie?
  • How did they overcome the challenges that they faced?
  • Which techniques worked out the best?

The podcast will not only help you grow but will also inspire me on my journey. Even though I’m already independent, I realize more than ever that learning never stops. New challenges require new solutions, and existing experience might not always be enough.

In the upcoming months, you can expect the following Indie Creators:

And I’m planning more for 2025.

Not only developers

You might notice that I’m often referring to Indie Creators rather than Indie Developers. This is because I believe we can learn a lot from non-developers, too! Hidde is the first in this category since he’s originally a designer. He’ll be sharing insights that differ from those of those who solely have a developer background.

For 2025, I’m aiming to invite Independent Creators from other fields, such as frontend engineering, marketing, sales, and more. The goal is to have a monthly source of inspiration with new insights that you can use for the weeks to come and grow accordingly.

Every first Monday of the month

If you’ve followed my going indie course, you know consistency is key to my success. The Going Indie podcast will release a new episode every first Monday of the month.

I decided to release it on a monthly cadence to leave enough time between each episode so you can apply the learnings. I’ve been following many podcasts but couldn’t keep up with all the learnings I’ve gained. This cadence should help you make the most of the learnings gained.

The podcast is now available on all popular platforms, but here are links for you to get access directly:

I’ve also created a dedicated Going Indie with Antoine van der Lee podcast website.

And finally, you can watch the conversation on YouTube:

Help me kickstart this podcast

While I have no doubts about this podcast’s added value, I would still love your support to help me kickstart it and make it a success.

Subscribe to my YouTube channel and rate the podcast in your favorite podcast player. Feel free to share the podcast with your friends, in your Slack channels, or become an affiliate for my course and grow with me.

Shoutout to Superwall

While starting the podcast, I raised the bar high. I wanted to have a high-quality podcast recorded on video in a professional podcast studio. I also decided to hire an experienced editor, even though I know how to edit myself (you’ve seen that in my course). This results in a high-quality podcast but also one that’s costly to produce.

Superwall had no doubts and decided to sponsor my first episode immediately. This covered the costs, but more importantly, it proved that it’s feasible to produce multiple episodes ahead of time.

Superwall makes it easy to create, test, and optimize paywalls—all without app updates or writing a single line of code. With real-time insights and A/B testing, you can quickly discover what works best and boost your app’s revenue. Superwall offers hundreds of paywall templates and supports Kotlin, Flutter, React Native, and Swift. You can get started today at superwall.com.

Conclusion

The launch of my podcast is a dream come true. With a background in music production and video editing, I know how exciting it is to produce a video podcast. It is fantastic to be able to combine my experience, meet fellow indie creators, and help you on your indie journey.

My goal is to make you succeed. Don’t forget to subscribe on YouTube or follow my course to kickstart your indie journey.

Thanks!
